Weekend Works

As part of the enabling works for the Sizewell C nuclear power station, construction of the temporary sea defence (TSD) which has been ongoing over the last few months and will include this and subsequent weekends. This essential infrastructure is being installed to protect the construction site and adjacent areas from tidal and coastal flooding during the development phase.

• Works Involved: Installation of steel sheet piles up to 7.3m high, forming a 785m-long barrier.
• Working Hours: Saturdays 07:00 -19:00 Sundays 07:00 -17:00
• Public Access: The coastal footpath will remain open.
• Noise & Vibration: Some noise and vibration may be experienced during piling operations which are within the DCO limits.

This temporary structure is a critical part of the project’s flood resilience strategy and will remain in place until the permanent sea defence is constructed.
