Temporary Sea Defence Planning Application

By SZC Community Relations | Published on 19th August 2025

Following a recent review, Sizewell C have submitted a planning application to East Suffolk Council to slightly raise the elevation of the southern section of the temporary sea defence wall, from 7.3 metres to 10 metres above sea level. The proposed amendment is to align with Sizewell B’s permanent sea defence which stands at a similar level.

The southern section of our temporary sea defence, located to the immediate north of Sizewell B, will help ensure the safe operation of Sizewell B throughout construction of our project. The minor adjustment remains within the limits of the Development Consent Order for Sizewell C.
