Road Closures Update

In the next few weeks works will begin on construct the new level crossing on Abbey Road to allow the trains to enter the Temporary Construction Area. To enable these works we will need to close this section of Abbey Road. Traffic will follow the new re-aligned Lovers Lane and connect to a temporary road which will then take them back onto Abbey Road. To connect the re-aligned Lovers Lane to Abbey Road and Lovers Lane we will be required to close Abbey Road to construct the tie-ins to the new highway with the usual diversions. This will happen over the weekend of 4 & 5 October 2025. Once the level crossing has been constructed this section of Abbey Road will re-open to traffic and the temporary road will cease to be used for traffic.
