Coastal Path Work

We are working on the shoreline close to Sizewell C to create a new footpath.

The existing path will remain open until the new path is open. Public access to the beach and coastal path will not be affected.

As part of the Development Consent Order to build Sizewell C, we will divert the coastal path that passes close to the site. allowing us to create a temporary sea wall around the construction area.

To lay this new diverted path safely, we are installing heras fencing and the works will last until approximately mid-September 2024.

Once the new path is completed, the fencing to the east will be removed, the new path opened and the old path closed.

Consent to implement this new path has been authorised by Suffolk County Council, under DCO Requirement 10 – Project wide: Public rights of way; The Sizewell C (Nuclear Generating Station) Order 2022 (Ref No. SCC/0045/24/DOR), dated 28th June 2024.
