Engineering Trains

This weekend an engineering train known as the “Tamper Train” will be carrying out works within the Ancillary Construction Area on the newly laid tracks ahead of further engineering train movements. Further information on what a tamper train does can be found: Track treatment fleet - Network Rail

From Monday 23 February there will be further engineering train movements along the branch line into the Ancillary Construction Area transporting materials needed to construct the Green Rail Route and the upgrade of the branch line between Saxmundham and Leiston. These engineering trains will arrive into Leiston after 07:00 and leave again in the evening.
