Leiston-cum-Sizewell
Abbey Road and Buckleswood Road level crossings are required to close overnight to support the installation and commissioning of new level crossing barriers.
Buckleswood Road
Buckleswood Road will be closed from 20:00 Friday 4 September until 05:00 on Saturday 5 September. This closure is needed to allow the installation and commissioning of the level crossing barriers to take place safely.
The diversion route will be: Buckleswood Road, Buckleswood Lane, B1119, B1122 & Westward Ho
Abbey Road
Following the works at Buckleswood Road (see above), Abbey Road level crossing will be closed from 05:00 on Saturday 5 September until 05:00 on Monday 7 September. During this period, works will include the installation and commissioning of the level crossing barriers, as well as resurfacing works at the level crossing.
The diversion route for Abbey Road will be: B1122, A12, A1094, and B1069
Leiston Level Crossing
To help reduce the impact on the community during this period, we will reopen one lane at Leiston Level Crossing, at Station Road and Westward Ho from 20:00 Friday 4 September until 05:00 Monday 7th. This temporary reopening will help maintain access while the Buckleswood Road and Abbey Road works are taking place.
Leiston Level Crossing will then reclose on Monday 7 September so that the utility works currently underway can be completed safely. These works are due to complete on 20 September.
