Two Village Bypass

  • Activity: Site construction
  • Start Date: 11th June 2026
  • End Date: 31st October 2026

Works are about to start on the construction of the foundations of the new bridge over the River Alde as part of the Two Village Bypass.

The bridge is an important part of the bypass and will allow the new road to cross the River Alde. Before the bridge structure can be built, we need to install piles into the ground. These piles will create the foundations needed to safely support the bridge.

What work will be taking place?

  • Piling platform works on both sides of the River Alde, to create safe working areas for the piling rig.
  • Installation of ground improvement piles and bridge foundation piles.
  • Use of construction plant, including piling rigs, cranes, excavators, rollers and delivery vehicles.
  • Movement of materials through the site using the established haul routes and temporary access arrangements.

Due to the nature of the works, some noise will be unavoidable.
