Bridle Way 19 Diversion

As part of the construction works for Sizewell C, Bridleway 19 through Kenton Hills is being diverted and expanded – to continue on to its existing route from Eastbridge.

There are eight stages to the realignment of Bridleway 19 and these are expected to open in stages:

Section 1 (Sizewell Gap to Sandy Lane – including Studio Field) – May 2027

Section 2 (Sandy Lane – Leiston Drain) – March 2027

Section 3 (Leiston Drain Bridge) – August 2027

Section 4 – (Leiston Drain Bridge, around Wild Aldhurst water management zone, onto Lovers Lane) – August 2027

Section 5 – (Lovers Lane – Kenton Hills Car Park) November 2026

Sections 6 (Lovers Lane, along Abbey Road to the Abbey entrance), 7 (Leiston Abbey entrance – Eastbridge Road) & 8 (Eastbridge Road to Northern end of B19) – December 2026

Until all of these sections of the realignment have been completed, the existing Bridleway 19 will remain open.
