The investigation work will consist of some borehole drilling, “Core Penetration Tests” (used to assess soil profiles and properties) and California Bearing Ratio (used to assess soil strength). The work to provide the access track work will involve the placement of the “hardcore” material suitable for carrying vehicles.
The aim of the ground investigation programme is to provide further information on the prevailing ground and groundwater conditions to assist in the design of the scheme.
