Updated – Marine Bulk Import Facility Works (MBIF)
Construction of the MBIF has now progressed from the beach and entered the sea. Works will continue until the end of the year and will include the construction of the platform needed to support the movement of bulk materials from vessels directly onto the main construction site. The facility is expected to become operational in Q2 2027.
To keep everyone safe while this work is completed:
- Marshals will be in place to guide people safely under the structure when passing through the work area.
- We will be working Monday to Friday (with occasional weekend works), to complete the remaining work as quickly as possible and reduce overall disruption.
We appreciate your understanding while these essential works are finished and thank you for your continued patience.
The MBIF will extend approximately 500 metres from the Main Construction Site into the North Sea, supporting our strategy to deliver 60% of construction materials by rail and sea.
