Marlesford
As part of community road improvements, I am writing to you to inform you of the current need for temporary closures of the A12 in Marlesford, Bell Lane and Ashe Road to undertake the Marlesford Improvement Scheme.
The works are being carried out following consultation and co-design with Marlesford Parish Council and involve the installation of a new signalised pedestrian crossing, construction of new footpaths, new signage and carriageway resurfacing throughout the village. Two unsignalized refuge crossings.
Precise details of works and duration are outlined below. Please note that the later dates are subject to change.
Nighttime 2-way traffic lights on the A12 will also be required overnight only for periods in June, July and August. We will confirm precise timings ahead of the works to help any shift working patterns.
During the works, cones and barriers will be in place along the edge of the A12 to maintain the flow of traffic while works are taking place on the edge of the road. Due to the reduction in width, a 30mph limit will be in place throughout the period of the works.
SZC have planned these works to avoid disruption as much as possible. However, we are aware that there may be some disruption and inconvenience for you. We are sorry that this may affect your journey times and will be working hard to ensure the work happens as swiftly and efficiently as possible.
