Update
The following road closures are planned to facilitate collaborative working with several utility companies which was announced in October is being extended to facilitate Essex & Suffolk Waters water pipes diversions:
From 9 December until 20 December there will be one lane closures under Traffic Management / Lights from 05:00 to 20:00 with a full night closure with short diversion through Leiston from 20:00 to 05:00.
Works will cease throughout the Christmas holiday period and re-start on 6th January 2025
From 6 January until the end of February will be one lane closures under Traffic Management / Lights from 05:00 to 20:00 with a full night closure with short diversion through Leiston from 20:00 to 05:00.
Diversionary routes will be in place for these periods. Please see map below for the Lovers Lane diversion.
Sizewell C have worked with the following utility companies to reduce any disruption to the local area whilst they undertake upgrades and diversions to their networks to improve resilience in our area:
Understandably there will be some disturbance with planned works as the utility companies will need to excavate, backfill and reinstate both the carriageway and footway.
Essex and Suffolk Water, UK Power Networks and Openreach will be contacting any customers directly if planned works would affect their services.
