Sizewell Link Road

Pretty Road, adjacent to the B1122, will be temporarily closed as part of the delivery of the Sizewell Link Road. The works include construction of the Pretty Road overbridge. It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/06/2026 to Q3 2027, but the closure will remain in place until the works are complete.

There will be a diversion in place and access to property will be maintained during the temporary closure. The diversion route will be via Hawthorn Road, Harrow Lane, Abbey Lane and the B1122:

Sizewell C investigated keeping Pretty Road open, however, it was not possible to safely manage construction traffic and traffic management without a road closure in place due to the narrow width of the road.

There will be further closures related to Sizewell Link Road and we will continue to provide updates.

Sizewell C have planned these works to avoid disruption as much as possible, and the road will not be closed until Abbey Lane is open to traffic, but we are aware that there may be some disruption and inconvenience for you. We are sorry that this may affect your journey times and will be working hard to ensure the work happens as swiftly and efficiently as possible.
