Two Village Bypass

The construction of the Two Village Bypass has the potential to impact upon the foraging habitat and burrows of local water voles, in particular from the construction of the bridge over the River Alde and the installation of drainage features associated with the flood compensation areas.

Before undertaking the works necessary to construct the Two Village Bypass, Sizewell C will require a licence from Natural England to address any threats to these water voles by ensuring that they are safely displaced from the works area. The habitat areas will be reinstated once construction works are complete.

The surveys taking place this week are to inform Sizewell C’s understanding of the location of the water vole population at the site.
