Leiston-cum-Sizewell
The footpaths from Westward Ho (FP6) and from Abbey Road (FP10), that lead north towards Abbey Lane, have both been temporarily closed for the lifetime of the Green Rail Route new line and a temporary joint alternative route put in place just west of Abbey Road. This new temporary section will be moved onto the shared-use footway next to Abbey Road once the road improvements have been completed in this area. This new route will cross the railway via the level crossing on Abbey Road when installed.
This work is to allow the construction of the Green Rail Route. The diversion will be in place from the 7 November 2025 to the 30 June 2026.
