Middleton cum Fordley, Theberton and Eastbridge
Works are due to begin on the construction of the foundations for the new bridge over the Sizewell Link Road, which will help keep Pretty Road connected.
The bridge is an important part of maintaining local access. Before the bridge structure itself can be built, we need to install piles into the ground. These piles will form the foundations required to safely support the bridge.
What work will be taking place?
- Construction of piling platforms on both sides of the Link Road boundary to create safe working areas for the piling rig.
- Installation of ground improvement piles and bridge foundation piles.
- Use of construction plant, including piling rigs, cranes, excavators, rollers and delivery vehicles.
- Movement of materials through the site using established haul routes and temporary access arrangements.
Due to the nature of these works, some noise will be unavoidable. We will work to keep disruption to a minimum wherever possible.
