Saxmundham
Railway works taking place in the Saxmundham area, along the East Suffolk Line, from 5th October 2026.
The works will include Preparation works, Track engineering renewals, deliveries and survey activities. To complete these safely, teams may use Engineering trains, Tampers, Cranes, Road rail vehicles, chainsaws, bush-cutters, rail saws, welding equipment and hand-held tools.
To enable these works we require the closure of Albion Street /Station Approach followed by a closure of Mill Road / Chantry Road from 26 to 30 October. During the closure window, one of the roads will always remain open and as a result pedestrians will be able divert via the other level crossing (e.g. when Mill Road is closed pedestrians will be able to route via Albion Street and vice versa). Access to property will be maintained during the closure.
The vehicle diversion route for both closures will be B1119 Rendham Road, A12, B1121.

| 22:00 21 November – 10:00 22 November | Follow up work including tamper train, signalling works and general maintenance. |
| 22:00 28 November – 10:00 29 November | Follow up work including tamper train, signalling works and general maintenance. |
| 22:00 5 December – 10:00 6 December | Follow up work including tamper train, signalling works and general maintenance. |
